the ps3 number on vgchartz moves every week! The only what that may appear not to is the wii because they overtracked it at christmas so adjusted it down so it then spent a while reaching the same numbers again.

ps3 sold 7 million according to NPD in US, 3 million in Japan and 9 million in others. So 22 million shipped and 19 million sold according to your logic.

they both state shipped to retailers numbers I don't know why many onhere believe Sony show ship to consumers numbers. Thy are impossible to calculate.
MS shipped around 29-30 mill. Sold to consumers 28-29 mill.
Sony shipped around 21-22 mill. Sold to cnsumers 20-21 mill.
Nintendo shipped around 47-48 mill. Sold to consumers 46-47 mill.

GFK the only independent tracker we have put hte 360 ahead by 1 million about 4 months ago. The difference lies is whatever MS and Sony counts as Europe - MS have counted the middle east in the past and sony have counted the whole of the PAL region. So tbh we don't know exactly but we do know its close.
there are other markets you know. You could say the same thing about the ps3 and the wii. It all evens out.
Europe is the only battleground left between the ps3 and 360 as the 360 has taken America and the Ps3 has taken Japan.
And by taken I never thought i'd say they were a long way behind the wii in all areas at the start of the gen. Well done nintendo.

The ps2 held things back last gen. Why is this such a problem this gen?
